APSA has negotiated with the El Conquistador Golf Resort & Golden Door Spa to offer the special room rate of $225 U.S. for single or double occupancy, based on availability. There will be an additional charge of $40 U.S. for any person seventeen years of age or older in a room. The maximum number of persons per room is three adults or two adults and two children. This special rate is applicable from May 25 through June 3, based on availability. All rates are subject to a daily resort fee, housekeeping service charge and tax, plus bellman gratuity charge of $10 round-trip per person. Reservations must be made at the El Conquistador Golf Resort & Golden Door Spa by April 27, 2009 and rooms are subject to availability. The APSA 40th Annual Meeting room rate may not be available after April 27, so make your reservations early. A credit guarantee is required to hold your reservation, however the hotel will not charge the card if cancellations are made more than 72 hours prior to arrival. Hotel check-in is 4 p.m., and check-out is 11 a.m.

Airline reservations may be made through FCm Bannockburn Travel Solutions, the preferred agency for APSA meetings. When you call, ask for the group department and identify yourself as an APSA 40th Annual Meeting participant. FCm Bannockburn charges a processing fee on transactions.

Exclusive El Conquistador Motor Coach Transfer
Arrival Transfers
El Conquistador Golf Resort & Casino operates transfer service to and from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport using luxury motor coaches. Upon arrival at the airport, guests should proceed to the baggage claim area, where they will be greeted by uniformed bilingual staff holding El Conquistador signs. Staff will direct guest to the appropriate carrousel to collect their luggage, advise how to engage a porter for luggage assistance, give directions on exiting the baggage claim and locating the motor coach station. At the station, names are listed and called in to the Front Desk. To enhance the arrival experience, guests can enjoy a beverage (with or without a splash of rum) and watch a video presentation of El Conquistador during the transfer to the resort.

The trip to El Conquistador takes about one hour. After check-in, guests return to Bell Services, identify their luggage and are escorted to their room. Transfers are $68 round trip, per person, plus 7% tax. To make a reservation, please call the Concierge Desk, +1-787-863-6040. Transfer service can be charged to your guest room upon arrival.

Departure Transfers
Guests will need to make a reservation for the return coach 24 hours before departure by calling the Concierge Desk (extension 6040). Recommend departure is three hours prior to flight time. Motor coaches depart the resort every hour on the hour, however, please check with the concierge for changes in the schedule.

On departure day, guests should call Bell Services for luggage assistance at least half hour prior to departure. Guests need to be at the front of the resort 15 minutes before the hour.

Sedan and Limousine Service

Sedan service between Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport and the El Conquistador is $250 U.S., for a maximum of 2 passengers, SUV is $280 for a maximum of 4 passengers, Limousine is $295 U.S. for 5 passengers with an additional charge of $41 U.S. per each additional passenger from 7 to 10.  All rates are one-way, include meet & greet service and do not include 15 percent service fee and 7 percent tax. Additional 25 percent surcharge for transfers between 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Wait time is $10 U.S. per 5 minute increment after grace period. Grace period is defined as ten minutes beyond the scheduled pick-up times. 

Above rates also apply for transfers from the El Conquistador to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.

To avoid charges, cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to pick-up. Notification of flight change or delays must be called in 5 hours prior to pick-up.

Taxi Service
Typical taxi fares from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport to the resort are $85 - $100 U.S. each way, plus gratuities.

Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport – Traveler Information
Arrival – Prior to leaving the baggage claim area, airport staff will check airline bag tags to be sure you have your own luggage. Do not discard your bag tags until after you have left the airport.

Departure - All checked luggage must be passed through an agricultural inspection outside the terminal before checking in, to ensure that no fruits or vegetables are carried onboard.

Foreign Visas
Travelers coming from qualified countries to the United States for tourism or business for 90 days or less may be eligible to visit the United States without a visa. Currently, 27 countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Visitors entering on the VWP cannot work or study while in the United States and cannot stay longer than 90 days or change their status to another category.

Visitors entering on the VWP need to have machine-readable passports. Those travelers without machine-readable passports will need to apply for a visa to enter the United States.

Applicants for visitor visas should generally apply at the American embassy or consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Though visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it may be more difficult to qualify for the visa outside the country of permanent residence.
